We’ve Got Your July 4th Plans Here at Stanley, Y’all

If you are looking for something free and fun to do for the Fourth of July, we’ve got a great event for you: our second annual Truck Stop Food Truck Rally in the Field at Stanley Marketplace!

Truck Stop returns to Stanley this Thursday from 1PM to 8PM and features more than 30 different food trucks, live music, lawn games, and lots of drinks (of course). Most of our Stanley businesses will be open that morning and afternoon, too, so you can enjoy the free festival in the field and then stroll through the marketplace if you need a respite from the Colorado heat.

No need for tickets or RSVPs, though you’re welcome to say you’re going on the Facebook event page because we love that. The event is free to attend, and food and drinks will be for sale at all the food trucks and a bunch of pop-up bars in the field (and inside Stanley, as always).

The producers of Truck Stop are also hosting a special happy hour on the 4th from 4PM to 5PM, when all drinks will be just $4, so tell your booziest pals about that hour especially.

We don’t have a gigantic fireworks display planned — it’s on our wish list for the future — but we hear it’s possible to see some of the display at Dick’s from the areas around Stanley.

Last week we hosted Top Taco for 5,000 people in the field here at Stanley, and I keep thinking about what writer Colin Wrenn said about that event in 303 magazine:

“…while there was a great disparity in the makeup of the crowd — the camaraderie was as palpable as the spice that wafted in every direction. In a time where the powers that be are doing their best to divide us, Top Taco proved, yet again, that tacos are the unifying principle.”

But I’d add that food is the unifying principle, which is one of the reasons we’re always celebrating food here, with festivals like Top Taco and Truck Stop and at 21 of our brick-and-mortar businesses inside Stanley. Food is something we all have in common, a source of sustenance, and a driver of community — it’s one of the ways we bring people together here at Stanley, which is one of the reasons Stanley exists.

We’re excited to see and celebrate with lots of you at Truck Stop at Stanley this Thursday!
