About Central Park Scoop

Thanks for taking the time to check out our blog about life in the neighborhood of Central Park, Denver! This page will share a little bit about us as a team & give you an overview of the blog.

My name is Joe Phillips and I live in the  neighborhood with my family which includes my wife Mandi, my 3 young daughters (Emerson “Emme” (14), Tatum “Tater Tot” (12) and Sloane (“Sloney Pony”) (9).  Once we decided Central Park was our long term neighborhood where we’d raise the girls & we built a new home here I decided it would be my main area of focus as a real estate broker and property manager.

The blog came from my desire to learn everything I could about the Central Park neighborhood and share it with others who may find the information useful. We’ve been producing the blog for 11 + years now and it’s been a great source of new info, friends, clients and relationships in the area.

I write posts and shoot Facebook live videos about things I think the community will find interesting. For example…news in the area, community events, school information, parenting, good causes to support, local businesses and personal things in my life that I think you could relate to. Of course we have a wealth of real estate and property management information on the site (we are real estate brokers and property managers after all!) but it’s never presented in a sales pitch… hopefully it’s just good info you may find useful!

After a few years Mariel Ross came along and joined me at Focus Real Estate and Central Park Scoop. She’s the mom of 3 wonderful boys and wife of a patient and loving, golf-obsessed husband (really, they have a custom putting green in the basement).  Mariel had great fun building her new Parkwood townhome in Conservatory Green and loves to talk about new construction anytime.

So how did Mariel end up at the Scoop?  After a fruitful career in Quality/Patient Safety and Research Administration at Children’s Hospital Colorado, Mariel transitioned to real estate to follow her passion for helping neighbors and friends find their perfect home!  She’s the author of our monthly neighborhood updates, “Inside Scoop” articles and provides Anschutz Campus related news. (she’s a preferred Realtor for Children’s Hospital staff too!)

Lisa Palladino and her husband built a home in the neighbohood six years ago. The community aspect, small-town feel and close proximity to downtown Denver where big selling points for Lisa. She and her husband have built their lives and family here, including two children, Joey and Olivia and two fur babies, Meadow and Willow.

Lisa’s professional background is in communications, specifically media and advertising sales to travel and vacation sales and most recently a career in real estate. Lisa strives to develop long-term relationships with her clients with a goal of finding the perfect home to match their current and future needs. Lisa hopes that in contributing to Central Park Scoop she will bring thoughtful information, community events and highlight local businesses for our readers.

When Rebecca Fawcett and her Canadian husband decided to put down roots in Denver, they knew Central Park was the right fit.  Accessibility within the community to amenities was very important to them, as they love to get out and about weekly. She resides in Bluff Lake with her husband, daughter, and energetic border collie, Charlotte.

Rebecca’s background in corporate event management has provided her with strong attention to detail, organizational aptitude, and the ability to remain calm in unexpected circumstances. She loves connecting with clients to best understand their needs and help fulfill their real estate goals. Rebecca loves to enjoy various activities with the neighborhood and connect with the community, so don’t hesitate to say hello if you see her out and about!

Our latest member to join the Focus team is Jeff Nazzaro. Jeff and his family moved to Central Park in 2022 from Austin, TX.  It was love at first sight, on their first tour of the neighborhood. Jeff laughed as he explained the experience. He was house hunting with one eye, while also seeing the neighborhood as a great place to work, with the other eye! The kids were excited about the parks, open spaces, and even the variety of schools. Jeff and his husband Rich were struck by our restaurants and great shopping. There was an obvious convenience factor to living in Central Park, and they recognized that right away. For the Nazzaros, Central Park is an easy place to live and to enjoy!

From a real estate perspective, Jeff offers years of experience, working with buyers and sellers in a variety of market conditions. He applies the lessons he’s learned throughout his career to the benefit of his clients. Selling homes during times of limited inventory, or during times when inventory is abundant, requires different strategies. Jeff approaches each transaction with a level of confidence and comfort. In many instances, those feelings translate into a feeling of well-being to his clients. They know they can rely on Jeff.

In addition to the Focus Real Estate team we have several regular resident contributors to Central Park Scoop who write about topics they are passionate about such as education, local businesses, health & fitness, parenting, relationships, faith, Autism, interior design, travel, Stanley Marketplace & more!  Anyone who has a relevant message that will add value to the lives of the readers and wants to contribute on a regular basis is welcome.  (Interested in being a contributor?
