Inside Scoop: Illegal Pete’s, a famous dumpling shop, Cholon, two new pizza joints, a Disney store, and more!

There’s a lot going on in Stapleton these days!  Northfield is growing every day, the new Sprouts-anchored development at A Line Square is picking up steam, and the neighborhoods around Stapleton are full of retail and commercial news.

As a local Stapleton realtor and resident, I’m always tracking the latest and greatest “coming soons” on the residential and retail front around our wonderful neighborhood. Here’s a sneak peak at some of the new stores and projects that have recently opened, or will be opening soon!

Before I dive in, if you missed our other recent retail updates, here they are:

Summer Scoop on Sprouts, Punchbowl Putt-Putt, a new Primrose, and more!

Inside scoop: A new Starbucks, 7 new stores coming to Beeler Park, grocery store rumors, what’s up with North End’s pool, and more!

Mason’s Dumpling Shop targeted for Montview

Future home of Mason’s Dumplings

Recently named one of the 38 best restaurants in Los Angeles, Mason’s Dumpling Shop is opening a new location just south of the Stanley Marketplace and east of Bill Roberts on Montview.

If you’re looking to satisfy your dumpling fix (I always am!), Mason’s may become your go-to dumpling spot. Pan fried chicken and cabbage dumplings … steamed soup dumplings with pork … steamed vegetarian dumplings … and more! You’ll also be able to grab rice bowls, steamed buns, and other items from the new location.

Mason’s Dumpling Shop will be located at 9655 East Montview Boulevard and is eyeing a late 2020 opening.

Disney Mini-Store coming to Northfield Target

As though getting my children out of the Northfield Target wasn’t already difficult enough (joking, but only kind of …), Disney will be opening a mini-store in the Northfield Target in early October. Disney and Target worked closely to co-develop and design an experience that brings the magic of Disney to Northfield Target’s guests. The Disney store will be a Target-operated, branded “shop-in-shop” layout with 750 square feet of Disney merchandise strategically located close to the toys section near the rear of the store.

A Disney mini-store is opening inside the Northfield Target

What’s going to be sold in the mini-store?

We’re anticipating around 450 Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars-related merchandise items and toys. Since Disney’s Frozen 2 and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker are coming out soon, you can expect plenty of movie-related items as well.

Disney mini-store will likely also have music, interactive displays, photo opportunities and a seating area where you can relax and watch Disney movie clips.

Look for the mini-store close to the toy section around October 4th.

New tenant for the Central Park Station development

If you drive down Central Park Boulevard with any frequency, you’ve probably seen construction underway on the new A Line Square at Central Park Station development. Located just south of the light rail station, construction on the new Sprouts – which is anchoring the development – is moving forward in anticipation of a May 2020 opening. But what about other retail tenants for the development?

A second tenant for the development was recently announced. Chase Bank has leased 3,048 square feet at A Line Square per BusinessDen.com. While we’re not certain when Chase will open, right now we’re anticipating a 2020 opening, likely around when Sprouts is coming online.

A Sprouts location

In addition to Sprouts and Chase, A Line Square will likely include additional retail, a new hotel, a row of townhomes on Uinta Street (three stories tall and conveniently located next to Sprouts!), and a large condominium complex with several hundred units on the northwest corner of the parcel.

Here at Focus Real Estate we’re following the condominium and townhome projects, as well at the entire A Line Square project, very closely. If you’d like to learn more, shoot me a note at Mariel@Focus-Realtors.com.  Similar to our detailed North End updates (visit us at HomesInNorthEnd.com if you’d like all the details on Stapleton’s new North End neighborhood), we’ll be sure to give you the inside scoop on all the details you need to know about living next to Sprouts, Chase, and the light rail station!

Modern Italian Pizzeria coming to the Stanley

Pizza Coperta pizzas … yum

I love working out of the Stanley, so I was thrilled to hear that a new pizza joint will be taking over the old Sazza space, which closed earlier this year.

The same crew who brought you Beast + Bottle, Coperta, and Pizzeria Coperta plan to open a modern, family-friendly Italian pizzeria in the Stanley.

From thin and thick crust pizzas to pasta to paninis to Italian cocktails, the new, currently unnamed restaurant will be a perfect spot to grab a quick slice or to bring the family for a Roman-style pizza and pasta dinner.

We’re expecting the new pizza spot to open later this year.

New coffee shop opens in Northfield

Featured in one of the Scoop’s latest posts – Where to Work Remotely in and around Stapleton – Kabod Coffee just opened off Central Park Boulevard in Northfield. Located in the same shopping center as Costa Vida, Anytime Fitness, and Freddy’s, Kabod serves organic and fair trade coffee that’s roasted here in Denver, Colorado.

Alamo Drafthouse going in close to the Stanley?  Maybe … or maybe not

The Alamo Drafthouse – Sloan’s Lake location

Stapleton Scoop readers asked us to look into rumors surrounding a new Alamo Drafthouse location, which may (or may not) be going in on Montview or somewhere close to the Stanley Marketplace.  I reached out to Alamo Drafthouse to check on the rumor, and unfortunately Alamo would neither confirm nor deny the rumor.  We’ll keep investigating and if we hear anything else about Alamo, we’ll be sure to let Scoop readers know!

If you have any other commercial or retail rumors you’d like the Scoop to look into, just shoot me an e-mail: Mariel@Focus-Realtors.com.

New pizza spot coming to 29th Ave Town Center

Pizzeria Locale, a Chipotle-backed fast casual pizza restaurant, is coming to Stapleton’s 29th Avenue Town Center. Featuring quick, gourmet pizzas (both red and white), salads, and of course my favorite, tasty and affordable red and white wines, Pizzeria Locale is perfect for business lunches, family dinners, and even date nights.

My husband loves the Four Meat Pizza (pepperoni, ham, bacon, chicken, oregano, chili flakes, mozzarella, and red sauce), while my children are partial to the Margherita Pizza with gluten-free crust (mozzarella, basil, and red sauce). But our whole family agrees the Nutella Pizza can’t be matched!

The latest outpost of the Boulder-founded pizza chain will be located at 7505 E. 29th Place and should open later this year.

Get your groove on! Just Dance opens in Northfield area

A Just Dance class

Located just east of Northfield at 4720 Lima St., Just Dance opened inside Gymtegrity in late August.

The dream of Stapleton moms Phoebe Smith and Miley Joyce, Just Dance features an 800 square foot dance studio space (complete with full-length mirrors!) where you can let go, break free, and have fun through dance. Just Dance offers classes for kids, teens, and adults alike.

Illegal Pete’s opening just west of Stapleton in Oneida Park

An Illegal Pete’s location in Denver

Are you a burrito addict? If so, good news! Illegal Pete’s will be opening a new location a few blocks west of Stapleton’s Fred Thomas Park on 23rd Avenue (2230 Oneida Street). If you’re not familiar, Illegal Pete’s is a homegrown Colorado burrito chain, with the first location opening on The Hill in Boulder in 1995.

We’re anticipating that the new burrito spot will open in early 2020.

If you visit Oneida Park to grab a burrito, also be sure to check out Torpedo Coffee, Spicy Thai II, Esters Neighborhood Pub, and Famous Philly Cheese Steak & Beer Garden. Oneida Park is a funky, fun development with a lot of great coffee and food options.

Goodbye Concourse, hello ChoLon

Wok-Tossed Calamari at ChoLon’s downtown location

Concourse in Eastbridge is closing to make way for a the second outpost of ChoLon. ChoLon Restaurant Concepts owns both ChoLon and Concourse, so while it’s sad to see Concourse go, we’re hopeful ChoLon will be a big success.

So what can you expect from the new ChoLon? Well, for starters we’re hearing that ChoLon’s Stapleton location will have a new dim sum menu and a dedicated dim sum kitchen.

ChoLon is tentatively scheduled to open in November.

So there you have it! Be sure to sign up for the Scoop so you don’t miss out on future updates. If you have a local business or project coming to Stapleton soon, please reach out to us!  E-mail me any time (Mariel@Focus-Realtors.com) or Joe Phillips (Joe@Focus-Realtors.com).  We’d love to help you get the word out!
