Here at the Scoop we’ve been hearing a lot about the Credit Union of Colorado‘s (CUC) new 3-story corporate headquarters building planned for Central Park. We thought you might be interested, too, so here’s the scoop!

Planned to be built at 40th Avenue and Central Park Boulevard – which is just south of I-70 and close to the light rail station and the new Runway 35 South development (across the street from Starbucks and F45) – CUC sent us renderings showing what their new headquarters could look like.

If you check out the renderings, you’ll see a 3 story building with a large front glass facade and modern-looking angles and features.  We hear the building will be energy efficient and follow best practices in environmental construction as well.

“We selected this central location because of its convenient, easy access to the greater Denver metropolitan area and proximity to light rail,” Terry Leis, CUC’s CEO said.

The new building will provide more space for the credit union’s growing workforce, serving more than 140,000 members throughout the state of Colorado.  Eventually the facility could serve up to 500 employees.

The new headquarters has a 2023 planned opening date. The facility will also have a full-service branch with drive-up and ATM services.

CUC’s headquarters isn’t the only headquarters planned for that particular section of Central Park Boulevard. Just across the street QuikTrip is planning to build its regional headquarters. The Midwest-based convenience store chain plans to open 50 to 70 locations in the Denver metro area. QuikTrip also recently leased space in Northfield at 9305 Northfield Boulevard (more on that here).

CUC was founded in 1934 and was previously known as Colorado State Employees Credit Union. CUC has more than $2 billion of total assets.

“We have chosen to build this new headquarters to position the credit union strategically for growth and expanded services,” Leis said. “We are dedicated to implementing future-forward solutions to provide the best staff and member experience built upon our core values and ‘here to help’ culture.”

Who else might be moving in on Central Park Boulevard in the next few years? At the Runway 35 North and South developments – which are located just north and south of I-70 – Chili’s, Raising Cane’s, a Fairfield hotel, PNC Bank, GO Church, Superstar Car Wash, and SCL Health Medical Group could potentially be moving in at some point in the future. A new In-N-Out restaurant has also been linked to Runway 35 North (be sure to check out Construction underway on potential In-N-Out development site, which is part of our June 2021 Inside Scoop article).
