One of the more interesting real estate trends this summer is how staying at home has impacted homeowners’ remodeling plans.

How so?
Let’s take a quick step back. I’ll be the first to admit that my remodeling game isn’t always where I’d like it to be. If something is damaged in our Conservatory Green home, my husband and I jump on those repairs immediately. But cosmetic, longer term changes to our home – like a new exterior paint color, or maybe finishing the basement – well, my husband and I chat endlessly about the possibilities. But with three young kiddos in the house, we rarely execute on more than 1-2 projects each year.
And that’s if we’re lucky.
But times are changing. What we’re seeing these days is many homeowners are more willing to spend the time and money to make great spaces in their homes right now. I feel the same as well. Projects we’ve been working on at our place in Conservatory Green? We recently put a cool epoxy on the floor of our garage and installed helpful garage shelving (thank you local residents Mark and Melissa at Garage Experts!). We just installed a Stikwood wall as well (with a lot of lessons learned). We’re also currently painting the inside of our home, as well as the exterior trim.

Also, if you happen to love your home as-is and are wondering what you should be thinking about, be sure to check out Jennifer Mathes’ article 5 Things to Know About Hail and a Roof Claim. We’re right in the middle of Colorado’s hail season, so it’s a great time to see if your roof has any damage.

With that said, on to the weekly update!
Open Houses
Driving around the neighborhood last week, you might have seen several open houses. Open houses are currently permitted in Denver subject to strict requirements. Here at Focus we’ve been closely monitoring the Governor’s orders, as well as internally discussing ways to make our open houses compliant and safe for all involved. For our first open houses this weekend, we will be enforcing strict social distancing, limiting visitors in the home to well below what’s permitted, and cleaning and sanitizing on a continuous basis. Masks are of course required, hand sanitizer will be provided and contact information will be collected for contact tracing purposes. We will be taking a number of additional measures as well to ensure our open houses are as safe as possible for our clients and the community.
We’re holding an open house at 5925 Beeler Street this Saturday (July 25) from 11 AM – 2 PM.
We’re also holding an open house at 9003 E. 50th Drive this Sunday (July 26) from noon – 3 PM
** If you’re sick or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, please do not attend any open houses. If you’ve been in close contact with a person suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19, please do not attend any open houses. We are happy to do video tours (or check out our walkthrough videos on Facebook) for any interested buyers who cannot attend – just let us know!
9003 E. 50th Drive, Denver CO 80238 – OPEN HOUSE SUNDAY – Noon – 3 PM
I love how the driveway and second floor overhang on this beautiful 3,600 sq. ft. home create a private courtyard. I always picture kiddos riding bikes and playing games on the driveway, safe and secure. Add to this a front-loading 2.5 car garage and a backyard, and this home has great outdoor space in abundance. And if the outdoor space isn’t enough, be sure to check out the white cabinets in the kitchen and stainless appliances.

Disclaimer:
Our Friday real estate updates are meant to be a “roundup” type post where we discuss all listings in Stapleton, not just our own. It’s our way of making sure we follow the market closely and we share it with the Scoop readers because we know many of you like to track real estate in the area as well. Many of the listings in these posts are not our company’s listings and we wanted to mention that here to make sure it’s clear. Thanks for reading the Scoop!
