A few years back we put together a list of options to help you navigate the Central Park fitness scene. Here’s the 2020 edition. We typically update the list around the New Year – when people are making resolutions to better themselves, however, we’ve had several new fitness studios enter the community recently. We’ve organized the list into categories based on the type of activity (Barre, Crossfit, Bootcamp, Cycling, etc.).

A results-driven barre studio. The Bar Method, located at The Shops at Northfield, is locally owned and operated by Central Park resident Sarah Stabio. Mach983 is a new CrossFit gym opening close to Stanley Marketplace, located at 2246 Dayton Street. Mach983 is focused on community and coaching for the Denver, Aurora and Central Park areas. Mach983 also has a wonderful cause – they’re the home of FYR (Forging Youth Resilience), a nonprofit that provides at-risk youth with fitness, nutrition, and mentorship.

Ubergrippen is an indoor climbing crag located in Central Park. They offer four separate and unique climbing areas, including top rope, lead climb, auto-belay and bouldering. They also have areas specifically dedicated to youth climbers. In addition to climbing, they have a fitness area with cardio and strength equipment and offer fitness classes, such as yoga, Pilates, and HIIT. Youth programs include competitive youth climbing teams, recreational climbing clubs, after school programs for elementary school aged kids, summer camps, school closure child care, parent’s night out, and supervised kids climbing and childcare (for when parents are at the facility).

He offers one-on-one and small group sessions, taking from several disciplines to tailor workouts to client needs and goals. Many people are intimidated by going to the gym and being around so many other people, and his sessions are private and professional and really alleviate that fear. Club Pilates is now open! We recently met with Andrea Cummingham, owner of the Central Park Club Pilates, to get the details of the new studio Located at 3585 Central Park Blvd, Suite 180. The Moorhead Rec Center in Aurora underwent a $13 million renovation few years ago! A new sports and training facility recently opened just west of Northfield. Primal Performance is located at 4601 Quebec Street, #C10. Primal offers strength and athletic training programs, 1-on-1 training, and more for many different skill levels and ages, from middle school athletes on up.
