With a job title like “Head of Joyology and Ribbon Affairs,” it makes sense that Blair Rodriguez has one goal: to make people feel valued, seen and appreciated.
Meet our next Built Here business owner, Blair Rodriguez, owner of Wrapp’d In Joy, a mobile gift wrapping and helium balloon company here in Central Park
Blair’s path to Wrapp’d in Joy started when she was 15 years old and got her first job as a gift wrapper at a high-end retail store in Mississippi. (She used to tell her classmates she was a “professional wrapper.”) She learned from her boss that the act of wrapping a gift thoughtfully and beautifully makes the recipient feel valued.
That lesson stayed with her as she pursued other careers such as teaching Spanish and working a desk job. After she became a mom to three boys, she realized she could draw on that gift-wrapping experience while creating a business that allowed her to spend more time with family. Finally, one year of thinking it over and one conversation with her husband, she launched her business in November 2025.
Blair believes that if you have something to celebrate, she can help make it happen, whether it’s by coming to your house to wrap your holiday gifts so you can focus on spending time with your family, curating unique gifts for teachers or repurposing balloons to deliver to patients at the children’s hospital who could use some extra cheer.
“Life itself is worth celebrating and I don’t care whether you turn a year or 100 years old, it’s important to celebrate your life,” she says.
Check out my conversation with Blair and follow her on Instagram and Facebook for more examples of her work — and think of Blair and Wrapp’d In Joy whenever you have something, no matter how big or small, that’s worth celebrating.
