What is CalAtlantic Homes Building in Stapleton Now?

CalAtlantic Homes is shifting what they are building in the Stapleton neighborhood.   They were building a large single family home series but they’re now going to be building paired homes as they move into the new area of Stapleton, Beeler Park.

The paired homes are not released yet and there isn’t a ton of information on them available but they’re building them in another community in Lakewood (Green Gables) and I went to check them out.  This post will give you the scoop on what to expect when they start building these in Stapleton around April 2017.

The paired homes will be a good fit for buyers looking to pay an all in price in the high $400k’s to the mid $500k’s.  (When I say “all in” I mean the price once you factor in base price + lot premium + structural upgrades + design center selections.  To learn more about building new check out our New Home Building FAQ section)

The two story paired homes come with 2-3 bedrooms and approximately 1,500 – 1,900 sf above ground, not including the optional finished basement.  The unfinished basement is included in the base price.  Not big enough?  The plans can be expanded on the second level to add bedrooms and get the square footage above 2,000 sf in many cases.

The homes all feature 2 car attached garages and small fenced backyards with a deck to grill and hang out on.  The  plans feature a lot of dual master bedrooms, meaning more than one bedroom with its own en suite bathroom.

There is one plan that has an option to be expanded upstairs so you can have 4 beds upstairs or 3 beds plus a loft.  You’d end up in the mid $500k’s if you made those expansions but that’s still a good price for a home with 4 bedrooms upstairs.  (In general you need to be in the high $600k’s + in Stapleton to find a plan with 4 bedrooms upstairs).

The homes have an open concept on the main level, with the kitchen, informal dining room and living area all in one great room area.  There are no main floor master bedroom plans in this series.

A bonus on these homes compared to other homes is the blinds and all of the landscaping are included.  Most builders don’t include blinds and only landscape the front yard.

The model homes for these paired homes in Stapleton should be complete around April 2017 and they’ll start sales around that time.  If you are interested now you have two ways to check these out:

  • See the plans on-line on their Green Gables website.  Their website has a really cool interactive floor plan feature where you can change the elevation of the home as well as toggle on or off all the options on each floor of the home to visualize what they look like.  (That 4 bed up plan I mentioned is the “Flourish” plan by the way)
  • Go see the model homes in the Green Gables community.  If you want to see these in person they have they have two model homes, the Flourish and the Splendor, available for you to walk through.  The address for their model homes sales center is 7318 W Adriatic Circle Lakewood, CO 80232.

Note that these plans, along with everything I say in this post, could change a little when they build in Stapleton.  This post is just meant to give you a sense of what to expect, don’t be surprised if there are tweaks in the plans, the elevations, the pricing, etc when they start in Stapleton.

If you think these are the home for you let me know and I can help you “stalk” the builder as they work towards releasing these homes.  The buyers that get started early, get prequalified, know what they want and stay in close touch with the builder will be the ones that get the best homes.
