I feel so lucky to live in a city and a community that has such an incredible food and drink scene! (Check out my posts about local cozy restaurants and my top chocolate shops.) I love checking out any new spots that I hear about as well as returning to my all-time favorites. In honor of the imminent change in season, I’m sharing my list of my ultimate places to sit outside when the weather is too gorgeous to even consider an inside table.

Cattivella

This Eastbridge restaurant is a staple in the neighborhood, and the patio is a big reason why. Since working with Chef Elise back at Panzanos in 2005, I’ve known and loved her style of cooking. Since opening her own restaurant here in Central Park, she’s crafted Cattivella to match her cool and welcoming personality. It has that perfect vibe of elevated but still relaxed, making it great for a date night or just a weeknight dinner.

Adding to the outdoor ambience is the food coming off the wood fire pizza oven—you’ll smell it before you even sit down! The pizzas, the house-made pastas, and my all-time favorites, their charbroiled oysters with garlic and parmigiano butter, all feel thoughtful without being overcomplicated. Order a bottle of wine, kick back outside, and you’ll remember to always keep this place in your rotation.

Lady Nomada

If you want something lively, this new Mexican spot at 29th Avenue Town Center is the move. I have been a huge fan since its doors opened and keep coming back to find more delicious offerings. A recent outing led me to their frozen toasted coconut drink, which is one of the best frozen drinks I have had in a long time, and perfect for enjoying time with friends in the warm weather. The patio here is bright, social, and just fun, especially on a sunny afternoon or warm evening, with fire pits lending the space a cozy touch when it cools down after sunset.

The menu leans Baja-inspired, which means a variety of tacos, vibrant bowls, and shareable plates. And the margaritas absolutely deserve a mention. It’s a place that’s perfect when you’re meeting friends and everyone votes to share the queso.

Bistro Vendôme

This modern French spot feels like a hidden gem, even though it’s right nearby in Park Hill. The patio is open and airy, but also super intimate. Go when you want to enjoy some fresh air with a glass of Sancerre and a beautifully curated charcuterie board, or bottomless mimosas and buttery crepes, with an elegant atmosphere that feels removed from the city. Their brunch is one of my favorites in the city and their happy hour is not to be missed. For a truly decadent Parisian experience, order the chocolate souffle.

Lowry Beer Garden

Having lived in Lowry previously, walking to the Lowry Beer Garden was always on my go-to list. With its huge outdoor space, long communal picnic tables, and an easy, relaxed vibe, it’s perfect whether you’re wanting to watch the game, meeting up with friends or just want to feel like you are, since the vibe is super sociable. There’s a big beer selection, full bar with a permanent Frozé option, plus all the staples like burgers, brats, and pretzels. Great for groups, families, and dates, and dogs are welcome too. Pop by after a visit to the Wings Over the Rockies museum next door or grab a cone at the Rocket Ice Cream stand (currently open only on weekends) on the way out.

Denver Beer Company at Lowry

Yes, another great beer spot in Lowry with a fantastic patio! I especially love their excellent frozen margaritas during the summer and they have surprisingly great food, including delicious cheese curds. They’re also known for their attentive, informative service and a huge outdoor play area and field for the kids. It’s a perfect spot for large groups or just a way to introduce the brewery patio culture to out-of-town friends.

This time of year is the perfect excuse to get out, try somewhere new, and revisit the places you already love. Supporting these spots, whether it’s a quick happy hour or a long patio dinner, really helps keep that energy going. So grab a friend, make a reservation (or don’t), and take advantage of the sunshine!
