What Security Cameras Do and Don’t Do…
If you don’t have a home security system, chances are you probably know several people who do. There seems to always be a commercial talking about how security companies can protect you. Marketing departments of home security companies like to use fear tactics to make you think if you don’t have some kind of security system, you are putting your family at risk for a horrific event!! Who wants that? What should I look for in a security system? Is it really that effective?
Well….kind of. Security systems have come a long way since the early days of ADT and others like it. At this time in the world, it does make sense to have a security system. They won’t protect you per se, but it will simply notify you of what’s going on, which is obviously better than being surprised.
I got the opportunity to discuss security systems (specifically cameras and alarms) with security expert Steve Harmon. In our interview he discusses the positive and negative aspects of having one of these systems.
