The Hangar’s Hosting a Beer Festival to Protect Public Lands

Oh hey neighbors! Our next big event in The Hangar at Stanley combines two things Coloradans love the most—craft beer and the great outdoors—so we’re hoping lots of you will join us for a very Colorado Saturday on August 25.

Keep It Public’s Summer Shindig is a celebration of and fundraiser for their mission to protect public lands across the country. They’ve rallied 20 local breweries and half a dozen outdoor retailers to pop up in The Hangar with live music and raffle prizes and more.

The list of participating breweries is like a who’s who of Colorado’s best. Great Divide and Odell will be there, as will Ratio Beerworks, 4 Noses, Our Mutual Friend, Woods Boss, New Image, and Renegade. Local favorite Dry Dock and hyper local favorite Cheluna are on board, as are Cerebral, Call to Arms, Epic, and Odd 13. And that’s a partial list!

When we first started Stanley we asked Topo Designs to open a satellite shop here. The timing wasn’t right, but they’ll be in The Hangar for this event, as will pop-up booths from Patagonia, Fjäll Räven, Vortez, Yeti, First Lite, and a few more, so you can sample all kinds of outdoorsy gear and maybe treat yourself to something new for your upcoming outdoor adventures.

Tickets are just $35 in advance, and that includes a tasting glass and unlimited samples from 20 breweries. There’ll be a raffle with some terrific prizes. And a Supporter’s Package ticket for $55 gets you into the event an hour early for limited-run tastings from the brewmasters themselves along with a window decal and a special-edition stainless steel Keep It Public mug.

Getting to know the Keep It Public team during the planning of this event has been inspiring. They’ve brought together a motley collection of people, from hikers and skiers to hunters and forestry workers, all across the political spectrum, who simply love and believe in protecting public land. It’s a nice reminder that as different as people can be, we can work together well when rallied around an important cause.

The beer festival takes place on Saturday, August 25, from 3PM to 7PM in The Hangar at Stanley, and you can get your tickets here. The event is 21+ and we’d love for it to sell out: the more people who attend, the more funding Keep It Public gets to continue their good work.

Hope to see lots of you there!
