Stapleton Cares Facebook Group – Helping Those in Need

In these challenging times we’re hoping as a community we can find ways to help each other out as much as possible.  Looking for ideas on ways you can help others while staying safe?  The “Stapleton Cares” Facebook group created by Stapleton resident Brooke Jones is a great place to start.

Learn more about the group and why Brooke started it below.

In response to the recent guidance from the CDC and local government regarding the Coronavirus, we are being asked to practice social distancing. In addition to social distancing, we are seeing people make runs on the grocery stores to stock up on items leaving shelves empty. Some of our most vulnerable community members (immune compromised, elderly, etc.) are unable to expose themselves to areas where there are crowds of people, like grocery stores.

With this in mind, I created a Facebook community called Stapleton Cares where those who have needs and those who can meet those needs are able to come together and connect. It is very simple. Over 800 people have joined the page since Friday. There have been offers of goods and services (food, clothing, diapers, dog walking, etc), informational posts, ideas on how to reach a larger community and inspirational stories shared about all the good happening during this difficult time.

It would be helpful to get the word out so those who are feeling isolated or unable to connect in other ways know that there is help and support for them. Please share the page, check in with your neighbors, find ways to help those who are most in need while also taking care of yourself.

I appreciate this community so much. Let’s come together to make sure everyone has what they need!
