When my wife convinced me we needed to live in Stapleton I wasn’t 100% sold on the neighborhood because I hadn’t spent much time here.  From an outsider standpoint, I didn’t know the difference between Stapleton and the burbs.  So we rented for a while to feel it out and that’s when I realized that I loved it and she was right.  The parks, pools, schools, front porches, architectural styles, location, etc were all great but what struck me the most was the people.  I saw that Stapleton was a place full of people who were active, successful, and very willing to give to others in need.

I remember seeing on the Stapleton Mom’s group there was a family with a home in foreclosure and the community stepped up and paid her mortgage for her!  Amazing.

New Perspective Real Estate hosts an annual food drive that brings in tons of food for the less fortunate.  They just raised thousands of meals last month!

Now that we’ve made Stapleton our home for the long haul we want to be part of growing this giving spirit that exists here already.  It’s so easy to just keep hustling and focusing on myself and my family but I know the right thing to do is to slow down and help others who have much more pressing needs.

“REAL Giving” is an opportunity to share with others this Thanksgiving season.  Real Giving was started by local Stapleton and Park Hill Realtors with the intent of raising money to buy grocery store gift cards for those in need in our community and schools.

This is the 5th season they’ve been doing it and according to Jay Epperson, a local Realtor who has been very active in the cause, they’ve had some great success.  Last year over $5,000 was raised and there was over 70+ families that received help!

Here is your chance to give back this Thanksgiving.
