There’s a new taco spot hitting Eastbridge this summer—and it’s only here for a limited time. Chef Troy Guard is bringing back one of his former concepts, Big Wave Taco, and reopening it as a seasonal pop-up in the former Los Chingones location at 10155 E 29th Dr. With a laid-back vibe, a flavorful menu, and an easygoing service style, it’s the perfect addition to your summer rotation.
The doors officially open Wednesday, July 16 at 4PM, and Big Wave Taco will be open Tuesday through Saturday (closed Sunday and Monday). Whether you’re dining in or grabbing something to-go, the setup is super simple—no servers, just order at a touchscreen kiosk or with the bartender when you walk in. You’ll get a text when your food is ready, and then you pick it up at the food window.
The menu focuses on fresh, flavorful tacos paired with delicious margaritas—available in seven different flavors and served in recyclable Ball aluminum cups, giving an eco-friendly twist to your happy hour. And speaking of happy hour, everything is 50% off from 4–5PM, Tuesday through Saturday.
We had a chance to preview some of the offerings, and everything we tried was amazing—from the tacos to their signature queso, chips and salsa, and of course the margaritas. To top it all off? They’re offering free soft serve ice cream all summer long.
There’s plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, with casual patio furniture and umbrellas, making it a great spot to relax after a pool day or meet up with friends for a laid-back dinner. Troy and his team designed Big Wave Taco to be a more casual, accessible space where neighbors can easily stop by for a quick bite without the fuss.
With limited-time summer hours—Tuesday to Thursday from 4–9PM, and Friday to Saturday from 12–9PM—you’ll want to plan a visit soon.
