Introducing the First Annual Scoopie Awards
Celebrating the Best of Central Park & the surrounding areas!
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of something brand new and exciting here at Central Park Scoop —the first annual Scoopie Awards!
What is a “Scoopie” you ask? Our goal with the Scoopie Awards is simple: to create a fun award system to celebrate the amazing small businesses and local spots that make Central Park and the surrounding areas such a special place to live, work, and play. From the best cup of coffee to the top local nonprofit, we’re inviting the entire community to come together and vote for their favorite places in dozens of fun and meaningful categories.
Whether you’re passionate about brunch, obsessed with fitness, or always on the hunt for the perfect slice of pizza, the Scoopie Awards are your chance to give a shoutout to your go-to spots and help them gain well-deserved recognition. We view it as a fun way for us all to learn about new hidden gems or places we just haven’t tried before…all while supporting our neighbors who pour their hearts into their businesses. “Fun” is the key from that previous sentence. It won’t be perfect and we can’t list every business in every category (good news though…you can write in a business in any category you want!).

Here’s what you can expect from the Scoopies:
- A community-wide voting system where residents nominate and vote for their favorite local businesses and services. Voting totals or rankings will never be public, only the winner will be announced. Voters will be required to provide their email so we ensure that people only vote one time.
- Gift card giveaways and exclusive discount codes from participating businesses will randomly be provided to those who vote!
- Ongoing partnerships with local vendors to spotlight their work and stories.
- A fun, engaging way to build community pride and connection right here in Central Park & the surrounding area (goal is to keep nominees within roughly a ~ 10 -15 minute drive from Central Park)
- Votes will be accepted through Labor Day (Sept 1st) & then we’ll announce the winners!
