If you haven’t been to the Stanley recently, it’s a great spot for a dose of holiday cheer.  The whole space is part of a “takeover” orchestrated by local artist Lonnie Hanzon in partnership with DCPA Off-Center. (That’s a cardboard cutout of the man himself.) Everywhere you turn, there’s something festive—Christmas trees, lights, garlands, bows, not to mention a place to leave your emotional baggage.

Beyond the decorations, there’s also a scavenger hunt for kids (if they find all the badges hidden throughout the building, they can pick out a prize at the Camp Christmas Gift Shop) and on the weekends, Santa pictures as part of their “Diverse Santa program” (see website for details and schedule).

For the grownups, some bars and restaurants took part in the transformation: Local Drive Hangar is The Camp Christmas Bar, Denver Biscuit Company’s theme is The Santa Bar, and Traveling Mercies is an Ornament Bar.

There’s also a “wildly festive” walk-through immersive installation called Camp Christmas Express. It’s $10, no reservations needed, located near the East Entrance, it has a whimsical (and slightly mysterious!) laundry theme…

Go for the food and drinks, stay for the holiday cheer!
