This Saturday, May 12th in The Hangar at Stanley we’re hosting a free community bootcamp focused on strength training and injury prevention, led by renowned fitness guru Dr. Jordan Metzl and sponsored by Zero Shoes. This workout is open to athletes of all ages. Doors open at 9AM and the workout runs from 9:30AM to 10:30AM. RSVP here.
Founded in New York City by sports medicine physician and best-selling author Dr. Jordan Metzl, IronStrength teaches athletes of all ages how to build strength and focus on key functional movements. Saturday’s event at Stanley will feature product discounts and giveaways, music, and also sweat.
This is one in a long line of community-based and community-inspired workouts we’ve hosted at Stanley, starting with a series of Endorphin bootcamps before we began construction way back in 2015. A few days ago I looked through some of those photos from the early days; it’s been incredible to see how much Stanley has grown since then. A huge part of our plan from the beginning was to host events like this that would bring people together and make them happy.
We got in touch with Dr. Jordan when a dear friend of mine from NYC visited Stanley and said, “This would be a perfect place for one of Jordan’s bootcamps.” The Hangar is big enough to host hundreds of people working out at the same time, so we are excited about having a crowd of athletes of all ages on hand this Saturday.
As Dr. Metzl says, “The goal of our IronStrength community fitness program is to encourage people of all ages and athletic abilities to join together and inspire each other to move, laugh, and build community in the process. Our program, the first physician-led fitness initiative, uses the joy of group exercise to promote health.”
