Denver’s Tough Mudder? It’s on … and selling out quickly

8,000 people descended upon the event in 2019. The 2021 event is already close to selling out.

If you missed Denver’s 2019 Tough Mudder adventure race, rest assured that it was a sight behold. I was there on behalf of our team at Focus Real Estate, and between the 8,000+ racers, fans, and volunteers, the different obstacles, and “Mudder Village,” there was a lot going on!

While the 2020 event was cancelled, Denver’s Tough Mudder appears to be full steam ahead for 2021. The event is currently scheduled for July 24, 2021 and July 25, 2021, which is the last full weekend of July.

The event is at Sterling Ranch, which is a new master-planned community close to the southern border of Chatfield State Park and about 8 minutes from the foothills. Sterling Ranch about 35 minutes south of Central Park and similar to Central Park in many ways – with many of the same builders (Parkwood, Lennar, Brookfield, and others) an emphasis on parks, trails, and courtyards, and other similarities.

According to the Tough Mudder website, several race options are close to selling out. Also interesting (at least to me), over 100,000 people around the country have registered for different 2021 Tough Mudder events already.

Tough Mudder’s Facebook page has this to say about the 2021 event:

“Colorado Mudders have tackled tough before, but this year things are about to get absolutely epic at Sterling Ranch. We’re returning to this stunning landscape just outside the Denver-Metro area, with a backdrop of the Rockies to remind you what it means to be tough.

These mountains may be beautiful, but they are also no joke. So team up to face tough – it won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.”

As you might imagine, the 2021 event will be different with COVID-19 safety protocols. For example, the Tough Mudder website says capacity will be limited to between 25% and 75% of traditional capacity. You can read about the social distancing, health screening, mask requirements, and other measures here.

Tickets start at $25 for the youth “Adventure Inspired” division (ages 5-12). The 3 mile, 13 obstacle division is currently $75 and the 10 mile, 25 obstacle division is currently $125.

Sterling Ranch is one of the new home communities our real estate team here at Focus Real Estate has targeted as a wonderful option for our clients. We’ve helped 20+ clients buy, sell, and build new homes in Sterling Ranch. If you’d like to learn more, check out our sister website the Sterling Ranch Roundup.

Hopefully we’ll see many of our Central Park friends and neighbors at the adventure race like we did in 2019! You can learn more about the 2021 Tough Mudder here.
