The mornings are getting cooler up here in the mountains! It’s time to plan those fall activities for your weekend getaway. Fall is personally one of my favorite times of the year. The colors are vibrant, hiking and biking (with layers) are at their prime, and the beer and cider is flowing at all the fall events.
Fall Fest in Frisco will take place Friday September 9th – Saturday September 10th. This event will be a little more mellow than other Oktoberfest events but just as fun for the whole family. Local artists, live music, and crafts for the kids will be available on Frisco Main Street. Prosit will be serving beer and food all day Saturday.
Oktoberfest is back to its full capacity in Breckenridge. Breckenridge Oktoberfest will take place on September 23 – 25th . Come down to party on Main Street, eat some pretzels, sausage and drink all the beer. Beer tokens cost $6.00 and can be purchased ahead of time or at the event.
Looking to get outside and not drink beer? Hike or Bike Aspen Alley trail to see the beautiful leaves change colors. This 2.6 miles out and back can be a very highly trafficked trail. If you decide to hike, have your eyes and ears open for downhill mountain bikers. Not a hiker or biker? Take a scenic drive around to see the colors on Boreas Pass Road. You don’t need 4wd but it is recommended once you get far enough into the drive. Either way, within 10 minutes on the dirt road, you will see some of the best fall colors and views of Breckenridge.
