Happy Friday everyone! The rain has moved out, and the summer heat we’re used to has settled in. Wear that sunblock when you go out because the UV index has been very high this week!
Today is the day. Whether you’re a “Swiftie” or not, you’ve probably heard about the long-awaited concerts tonight and tomorrow. If you’re one of the lucky ones with tickets, have a blast! If you don’t have tickets, I hope you’ve at least enjoyed watching some of the excitement around town this week. People are selling friendship bracelets, breweries are making Taylor Swift specialty beer, and last night at the Splash Landing Sunset Swim, we were entertained by the lifeguards doing Taylor karaoke (thanks lifeguards… for keeping our pools safe, entertaining the crowd, and having fun in the process). If you’re looking for pre-concert activities, or for ways to get in on the fun even though you won’t be attending the shows, the Denver Gazette put together this great list of Taylor-themed events happening around town. Westword has also compiled a list of Swift-inspired food and drink specials, an ultimate concert guide, an Eras-inspired bar tour and, perhaps most importantly (at least after this Taylor-themed real estate update intro), a list of places you can hide to avoid the hype.
I, sadly, won’t be attending the concerts, but I will be checking out The Halal Guys right here in the neighborhood. I’m excited for a new fast, casual food option that isn’t burgers or tacos (even though I love burgers and tacos). The Halal Guys has been serving up chicken, gyros and falafel platters since 1990 and just opened their newest location in Northfield at 8241 E Northfield Blvd. Check it out!
