The Perfect Summer Day in Frisco

Warmer Days are here! Escape the extreme heat of the Front Range and come enjoy a mild summer day in the mountains. Some of my favorite summer days are in Frisco, here’s my idea of the perfect day:

Coffee

Start your day at Abbey’s Coffee! This cute as a button coffee shop has been around since 1996 and is my go-to coffee shop in Frisco. Grab your latte and sit on the sunny patio out back.

Morning Hike/Bike

If you’re looking for an easy hike, check out Rainbow Lake. This hike is mostly flat with only 150 ft of elevation gain and 1.5 miles that lead you to a beautiful lake in the woods.

Looking for something a bit more challenging? Try Mt. Royal, this hike is deceiving and rewarding. This hike is only 3.9 miles round trip but is straight up hill with 1,374 elevation gain. Once you’re to the top you get views overlooking I-70 to the West, the Gore Range to the North and the Front Range to the East.  The is one of my favorite hikes for a good leg burner day.

Biking more your speed? Check out all the trails throughout the Frisco Peninsula. There are mountain bike trails for all levels of riding including a jump park.

Lunch

After your bike or hike, head over to the rooftop at Uptown on Main for a bite to eat to refuel your energy. Their large menu is sure to have something for everyone. The rooftop is sunny so don’t forget your sunscreen and sunglasses while you enjoy lunch and lawn games.

Lake Dillon

Head on over to the Frisco Marina in the afternoon to enjoy all Lake Dillon has to offer. I love to take off on my paddle board for a relaxing paddle out to some of the islands. You can reserve your rentals for a pontoon boat,  kayak, canoe, paddle board and more now at https://www.townoffrisco.com/things-to-do/frisco-bay-marina/

If boating or paddling isn’t your thing, take a beach chair and an umbrella and just relax on the sandy beach.

Happy Hour

It’s 5 O’clock somewhere!  Happy hour drinks at the Island Grill can start at any time of the day. Enjoy your favorite boat drinks and live music every Friday.

Dinner

Main Street Frisco has tons of restaurant options for dinner. My favorite is 5th Ave Grille.  If you’re up on a weekend, I would highly recommend booking a reservation ahead of time.

Night Life

Just when you think there is no energy left after an eventful day, check out 10 Mile Music Hall for concerts all summer long. If there are no concerts or if they aren’t your thing, CO-Bar next door is a fun spot for drinks and late-night arcade games. Open until 2 AM every day.

That’s a wrap on my perfect summer day in Frisco. If you’re looking for other recommendations in Frisco or other Summit County Towns, don’t hesitate to reach out.
