Did you know that Central Park has it’s own Healing Collective? Right across from Judi’s House and next to Glissade Coffee, Santi- A Healing Collective offers up a lovely array of services that can help you fulfill that promise to yourself to improve your body, mind and soul.
Owner Ronnie Van De Sande created Santi to provide a welcoming, nurturing and relaxing environment and the feeling is evident the moment you walk through the door. The space is lovely, and Ronnie’s compassionate energy can be felt throughout. Lovely natural scents and serene music greets you upon entry. My Sole-ful Journey Pedicure was scheduled with Jess who greeted me promptly, led me upstairs, and offered tea or water. I opted for the tea which was delicious and of course from a small batch local purveyor. However, it was really the mountain views from the relaxation room that was a beautiful surprise. Big, oversized windows allowed for ethereal western light to flood in, complemented by the natural and tasteful décor and furnishings.
Jess led me back to the nail studio where I was treated to comfort on an adjustable lounger, soft blanket and soothing eye pillow. She explained how their pedicure was a waterless pedicure to provide for the highest level of cleanliness. I must tell you, I did not miss the soak, as I was lavished with steam, dry brushing, masks and an abundance of decadent hot towels. Jess was a master of her craft, and the final product was the epitome of smoothness in both skin and nails for these perpetually overworked feet. The other important thing I must mention, they have Dazzle Dry polish! If you aren’t familiar with Dazzle Dry, it is a natural, non-toxic nail polish that really lasts like gel polish, but the best part is that you can remove it with regular nail polish. Of course Santi would carry only the best, as all their products seem to be so carefully curated by Ronnie herself. They do offer gel and dip, however for diehard fans.
After a luxurious hour, I had the pleasure of talking to Ronnie and all the services they provide. Ronnie herself, with over 20 years of experience, heads the facial program and has a unique approach to skin care. While most places ask you to choose which facial you would like (like any of us really know what our skin needs), Santi’s facials are customized for you entirely based on your specific needs. You might need an oxygen facial, maybe some lymphatic drainage, whatever it may be, Ronnie or Nikki, another carefully trained esthetician, will tailor your blissful time to put your best face forward when all is said and done. She also offers Yumi Lash lifting and has earned her title as a “Wax Master”. Since Santi’s recent expansion into the upstairs space, she is bringing in a massage therapist to provide body work services as well. We also talked about how she loves to cater to groups: Bridal showers, birthdays, girl or boy’s day out, whatever the occasion, Ronnie can make it happen.
Santi- A Healing Collective is truly what the name suggests, a sanctuary of wellness. I left feeling relaxed and pampered, vowing to return to try the other services. The polish on my toes lasted over 3 weeks.
