Looking for a way to get rid of your Christmas tree now that the holidays are over? You’re in luck – we rounded up some options for you. And remember, while the tree may need to go, Denver tradition says the lights stay up until after the Stock Show. We don’t make the rules.
1. Recycle your tree through Denver’s Treecycle program. The mulch created will be available for Denver residents to pick up in the Spring.
Weekdays (8am–2pm) you can drop your tree at one of the following locations:
• Cherry Creek Transfer Station
• Havana Nursery
• Central Platte Campus
Saturdays only (Jan 10 & Jan 17, 8am–2pm)
Fred Thomas Park (2400 Quebec St.) — right here in Central Park
– Additional drop sites can be found on Denver’s Treecycle program website.
2. Christmas Tree pickup supporting migrants. They will come pick up your tree and drop it at one of the recycling stations. The cost is $20 a tree. To sign up, fill out the form HERE.
3. Leave your tree out for large item pickup. Unfortunately these trees will go to the landfill. Click here to find your large item pickup schedule.
