Does anyone else feel like the summer is just flying by? The 4th of July holiday is next week! Here are some fun ways to celebrate Independence Day near the Central Park neighborhood.

Independence Eve

Civic Center park

Civic Center Conservancy is bringing back Denver’s favorite July 3rd event — reimagined for 2024! The City and County of Denver presents a transformed, interactive, event that will feature Denver’s largest-ever drone show, the launch of Civic Center NIGHT MARKET, music from emerging young DJs, a live performance from the Colorado Symphony Brass & Percussion Ensemble, and two different light shows on Civic Center Park’s iconic structures! Visitors are invited to gather in Civic Center Park to experience great food, music and shopping at Colorado retailers until the drone show begins, at which time, they can find a spot on the lawn to enjoy and celebrate.

Central Park 4th of July Pancakes & Parade

The Annual 4th of July Breakfast begins at 9am at the South Green (29th & Roslyn)!

Breakfast will be on the stage and provided by one of our sponsors. There will be a suggested donation for the breakfast with all proceeds going to a local non-profit. There will also be a balloon artist and a face painter.

Bring your decorated bicycles, tricycles, wagons or scooters for the parade, which will begin at 10:30am. There will be parade leaders at the start of the parade to guide participants through the course.

4th of July Pool Schedule:

• 11a-2:00* (80% advanced reservation, 20% drop-in day-of)
• 2:30-5:30* (80% advanced reservation, 20% drop-in day-of)
*we will hold all reservations for up to 1 hour after opening. Any no shows after one hour will be absorbed if there is a line waiting to get into the pool. The facility will be cleared between reservation blocks.

Reservations are only needed on Monday, July 4th. Pools will operate on their regular, open swim schedule July 2nd and 3rd.

Park Hill Parade

July 4th: 1:30 PM
Dexter St. to Krameria St

The annual Park Hill Parade is Denver’s largest Independence Day march and runs through the heart of Park Hill, one of Denver’s oldest, most historic and diverse neighborhoods. The parade includes floats, marching bands, costumed performers and tons of red, white and blue fun.

Stretching from Dexter St. to Krameria St., this year’s parade will include more than 50 groups, including floats, marching bands, costumed characters, classic cars, and more!

The Park Hill Parade starts at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4th, 2024. The parade is held in northeast Denver’s historic Park Hill neighborhood, one of the city’s largest, oldest, and most diverse areas.

Colorado Rapids 4thFEST

Dick’s Sporting Goods Park

The 28th annual fun-filled Independence Day celebration includes a pre-game festival, a Colorado Rapids vs Sporting Kansas City match at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park and the LARGEST PUBLIC FIREWORKS SHOW IN THE STATE OF COLORADO!

As part of the 4thFEST celebrations, the Rapids and Commerce City will host a family festival at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park prior to the Rapids’ match that will include live music, a bounce house, soccer darts, a rock-climbing wall, a mobile ropes course, an alpine tubing slide, a mechanical bull, a trackless train, pedal carts and a toddler zone among the activations. 4thFEST is free and open to the public.

The firework show can be seen as a paid park visitor at Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park, or you may enjoy them from a high-rise downtown or one of the nearby parks like Gates Crescent Park, Fishback Park, Jefferson Park and Paco Sánchez Park.
