Get “Out of the Bubble” this Fall with these Fun Events around Denver
Sometimes it is nice to stay in the neighborhood to relax or cart the kids around to all their events, there’s certainly plenty to do in Stapleton. But, you live close to Denver for a lot of reasons and some of those include the ability to “get out of the bubble” and hop into the city for some fun events. So here are some enticing fall activities to lure you into our still fairly little “big city”. We’ve got tons of pumpkin-filled, costume-clad opportunities of course; it is fall after all. Not a fan of pumpkin spice in your life? How about celebrating Dia de los Muertos? Or getting your nerd on? Or letting your inner noodle lover out? Oh and there’s chocolate. Trunk or Treat at the Flea – Oct 12
A free, family-friendly event where you get to wear your costume and find some good deals. Who doesn’t need one more event to show off those costumes?

Choctoberfest Colorado – Oct 12, 11-6
Chocolate. Oh, and…family friendly, beer garden, Halloween craft booth, and did I mention the chocolate (you had me at chocolate).
Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farm
Corn Maze – Now through Oct 27
Is it far? Yes. Is it worth it? Totally. But maybe go at opening time, an hour or so before closing time, or on a weekday if possible because EVERYBODY and their grandma loves these events.
Pumpkin Festival – Oct 11, 12, 13
Sugar Skull Painting at Grandma’s House Brewery – Oct 11, 25
Celebrate and participate in this Day of the Dead tradition (beer sold separately).
The 3rd Annual Broadway Halloween Parade – Oct 19
This family-friendly event has had up to 15,000 participants in the past. Put on your costume and go join in the fun (or just go watch for some amazing costume inspiration).
Science on Tap STEAM event supporting the DMNS – Oct 22
Let your inner nerd out! This grown-ups event has science demos and stations, food trucks, drinks, and all sorts of fun (oh, and it promises an explosion station). Plus it benefits the science museum! Oh, and you can pay $15 for a limited edition beaker for your drinks. (If the song “Weird Science” isn’t now playing in your head, it should be.)
Botanic Gardens York Street – Glow at the Gardens – Oct 21-25
Trick or treating in a safe and limited (am I a bad mom because I love that my kiddo doesn’t get pounds of candy here?) environment with the most amazing pumpkin carvings you have ever seen.
Boo at the Zoo – Weekends — Oct 19-27
You will likely see more costumed creatures than zoo animals, but man are they cuties. And they will have some live animal demos, and character meet and greets. Spooky fun!
Bloody Mary Festival – Oct 20
If this is your brunch drink staple, then don’t miss this event.
Dinner with the Villains: Halloween Spooktacular at Oblio’s Pizza – Oct 28 from 4:30-8
A fun family event at a Park Hill staple.
Mac ‘n Cheese Festival – Nov 2
Why yes, that was my stomach you just heard growling. All I can say about this event is YUM.
Denver Botanic Gardens Dia de los Muertos Celebration — Nov 2
