In my experience helping clients buy a home, there is rarely ever a house that meets each-and-every need of the homeowner. When house shopping, there are properties that almost match what the client is looking for – like location, price, and floor plan – but buyers sometimes need a little vision to make their home exactly as they want it. I often advise clients to not let that one item stop you from what is an otherwise an exact fit.  With a little foresight, hard work, and a reputable contractor, they can usually make their dream home a reality after moving in.

My clients have shared so many inspiring photos of their projects, that I decided to chronicle them in a series of Before and After posts for our Stapleton Scoop!

This month, I am featuring Rose and Norm’s Wee Cottage purchased in the Spring of 2019. When they moved in the yard wasn’t quite what they had in mind. The pictures below were taken prior to the builder installing the basic landscaping and fence, but you clearly can see the concrete parking pad next to the one car garage. For this particular lot, Rose and Norm felt it took up too much space in the backyard.

They were hoping for a larger yard with space for grass and trees, a place to enjoy the gorgeous Colorado weather. So, they made it into their perfect backyard oasis with the help of Ben Muck, their landscape contractor.

Removal of the parking pad created a spacious backyard, brick lined sidewalk and a corner bench for sitting outside to enjoy the new trees!

Rose and Norm used Ben Muck of A&M landscaping LLC as their designer and Jesus and Sons as their landscape contractors. You can find their contact info below.
